The actors of the agricultural world initiated this national forum on e-Agriculture for a main reason. Facing the many challenges of productivity, job creation and environmental preservation. Started this February 11 in Ouagadougou, this forum is intended as a framework for exchanges between actors in the agricultural world.
This forum aims to lay the foundations for a synergy of action between actors in the agricultural and rural world. Thus, this synergy of action will stimulate the emergence of efficient intelligent agriculture. The forum brings together decision makers, technicians from the rural sector and those from the development of the digital economy. It is organized by a public-private consortium, of which ECODATA is the leader. According to Alexandre Kabré, director general of ECODATA, their mission consists in bringing together, the actors, young and old from the agricultural world.
Also, their vision is that the use of information and communication techniques is a reality in Burkinabe agriculture. Still according to him, these technologies can provide solutions to increase agricultural yield. Anything that he says necessarily involves the involvement of young people in digital agriculture. During this forum, an inventory will be made of the potential for the development of these ICTs applied to Burkinabè agriculture. So will experiences in the development of agricultural information systems.
The Pan-African Institute for Development in West Africa and the Sahel (IPD-AOS) stood out with the participation of 15 of its students in Agriculture and Technological Innovations (AIT) during the two days of the forum.
